as simple as that
With Just a Bucket:
Test Your Pool's State
To perform the bucket test you will need: a clear bucket, it has to be clear that one could see through, some rocks or weights, and you will need the swimming pool to be somewhat leveled “mid-waterline tiles”.
You will take the bucket, fill with rocks or weights, something to keep it from floating. You will then place the bucket on the first step of the pool and fill the bucket to the same level as the water in the pool. Therefore, the water inside the bucket will be parallel to the water inside the pool. That’s why the bucket needs to be clear, so you may level align them perfectly.
Make sure that if you have a spa/jacuzzi that overspills into the pool, that the spa is filled to the top and the pump is running, and keep in mind, if you do have this scenario and set the bucket this way, you must check the bucket while the spa is full and overspilling.
You will let the bucket stay for a period of 24 hours. After 24 hours have passed, you will compare the water level in the bucket to the water in the pool.
If they are still parallel, it means there is no leak. If the water in the bucket is higher than water in the pool, that means the pool does have a leak. In that case call us to schedule a leak inspection.
